Perched on the breezy and cool hilltop of Sandy Hill bay in the East end of Anguilla, and overlooking the blue Caribbean, Villa Gardenia sits on 0.65 acres of a luscious and colorful garden. Villa Gardenia consists of two villas, 40 feet apart. A patio and a 56x14 ft lap swimming pool connect them. All living and sleeping rooms have gorgeous views of the Caribbean through large windows and glass doors.

Villa Gardenia, located on the quiet residential east end of the island, is approximately 10 mins from Wallblake Airport and 20 mins from the ferry at Blowing point. The villa is a short walk to Sandy Hill beach, which is also accessible by car. It is 15 - 25 minutes away from the most beautiful sandy beaches as well as your pick of fine dining, and 5 - 10 minutes from grocery stores. If you prefer to dine in, the villa has two fully equipped kitchens. The living area occupies the first floor of the main building. A spacious sitting room with an entertainment center, a nook for table games and a desk with internet access open through 12 feet glass sliding doors into the patio and the swimming pool. Sit on a comfortable couch and gaze through glass doors and large windows into the blue Caribbean and the lush green wild mountains of St Martin.

A hallway with French doors that open into the patio separates the living room from a dinning room that seats 8 to 10 people comfortably. It has spectacular views through 12 feet sliding glass doors. Prepare your meals in a fully equipped kitchen with a center island, microwave and dishwasher. With three separate areas for dining and lounging, the large patio space on the ground floor surrounds the 56 ft long pool and is perfect for reading, relaxing, listening to the waves, al fresco dining and stargazing. Have your pre-dinner drinks under the pergola on the second floor patio next to the second master bedroom and indulge in the stunning colors of the sky at sunset. Prepare savory meals on the Caribbean charcoal grill next to the pool and take in the scenery. The grounds are planted with gardenias, bougainvilleas, Norfolk pine, oleanders, palm trees, cedar trees, and other local flora. Italian stone tiles cover all patio and indoor floors.

The master suite is secluded on the top floor of the main villa. A wooden staircase leads from the living room to an inner balcony that opens into a large master bedroom with hardwood floor, king size bed, sitting area, and a large en-suite with double sinks. Twelve feet wide sliding glass doors open into a spacious private balcony with stunning views of St Martin. Anguilla and St. Eustatius. The other villa has 3 en-suite bedrooms, each with a separate entrance. Two of the bedrooms are at the pool/patio level. Each has 2 twin size beds convertible to a king size bed. Eight feet wide sliding glass open into a private covered veranda with panoramic views of Anguilla, St Martin and St Barths. On the top level there is a second master bedroom with a king size bed and a private balcony with a 360 degree unparalleled vista of the Caribbean.

At the garden level there is a cozy apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting and dining area, a full bathroom and a private balcony. It has three twin beds that can be converted into one king size bed and one twin bed. The villa has A/C, two telephone lines, cable TV, DVD, two Bose radio/CD units and high-speed wireless Internet access. An automatic car gate leads into a driveway that climbs 25 feet to the main door. Maid service is available six days a week. To complete your Caribbean experience, the following can be arranged: airport or ferry transportation when you arrive, car rental, babysitting, masseuse, and in-house chef. How far is Villa Gardenia from the beach, the restaurants and grocery stores?
Sandy Hill beach is within walking distance; it can also be reached by car. All the other beaches in Anguilla are 15 to 20 minutes away. Anguilla is a small island: 16 miles long and 3 miles wide. The finest restaurants are within 15 to 25 minutes drive. Grocery stores can be reached in less than 10 minutes.

How does one get to Anguilla/Villa Gardenia?
American Eagle flies from San Juan, Puerto Rico directly into Wallblake airport in Anguilla. One can also take a 10 minute flight from the Juliana airport in St. Maarten/ St. Martin or a ferry from Marigot in St. Martin to Anguilla's port of entry, Blowing point. From either one of these points of entry a cab will take you to the villa.

What are the entry requirements for Anguilla?
A passport is required for everyone. A visa is given at the point of entry for up to one month. The visa can be renewed for the length of your stay.

What is the Language?
Anguilla is a British Overseas Territory. English is spoken.

What is the currency and can one use credit cards or access ATM machines?
The island uses US dollars and Eastern Caribbean dollars interchangeably. Major credit cards are accepted in most, but not all, places. Gas stations and some grocery stores do not accept credit cards, so bring some cash and Traveler's checks. There are also ATM machines on the island where you can get cash in US dollars for the requisite fee.


Do I need currency adaptors for my personal electric devices?
Electricity in Anguilla is 110 Volts AC. American outlets are used.

Can I use my cell phone and/or call 800
You can only use your cell phone if your home carrier has a roaming agreement with Cable & Wireless. Contact Cable and Wireless directly at 264-497-3100 or at customercare@anguillanet.com for more information. You cannot access toll-free numbers on Anguilla. You can call those numbers but you will be charged regular, long distance rates. You can make phone calls charged to your major credit card by calling 1-800-CALL-USA. Digicell has recently come to Anguilla. You may call them there and rent a cell phone for the duration of your stay with more reasonable rates; they have offices everywhere.

Is there air conditioning?
The villa has a constant breeze all the time. Nights are cool in Anguilla and it is very comfortable to sleep with some windows open, and it is soothing to hear the sound of the waves. All the windows have screens and there are ceiling fans in all the rooms.

Are there Laundry facilities?
Yes, there is a washer and a dryer in the house.

Is the water safe to drink?
Anguilla is a semi-arid island. Water is a precious commodity and every effort is made to conserve it. The water in the villa comes from rainwater. The water passes though two filters, one in the main pipe line to the house and the other is hooked to the drinking water faucet in the kitchen sink. It is perfectly safe to drink. Bottled water is also available in the island.

Is internet available?
Yes, there are high speed DSL connections in four locations in the villa as well as a wireless modem. There are several places in the island where you can access the internet or fax for a small fee.
